Lego Previews: July 2015

There's some speculation on the LEGO net over whether we're going to be getting a new Hoth Base soon. The Brick Fan has the story, and the following is taken from their site:

To further speculate that LEGO will be releasing a new LEGO Star Wars Hoth Echo Base set in a few months, there’s a listing in Brickset’s database that may have just confirmed the set. There’s a direct-2-consumer set listed with set number 75098 which has a recommended retail price of $249.99. The dimensions of the box are also listed at 22.9 x 18.9 x 3.6 inches which is the same size as the Ewok Village (10236). That set had 1990 pieces so I’m thinking that the Hoth Echo Base will have around the same number of pieces.

Good news indeed for LEGO Star Wars fans (although not their wallets)! Of course, the ice world of Hoth has already featured in quite a few SW kits:

First up are some old Hoth Base sets, this one is Lego 7879 Star wars - Hoth Echo Base. Ever wanted to know what Luke would look like with a robotic goatee? This is the kit for you!

This Kit - LEGO Star Wars: Hoth Rebel Base Set 7666 features some snow stuff, but who cares about that, it has K-3PO! And a Snowspeeder. Woosh!

LEGO Star Wars 7749: Echo Base is an older set, but it gives you the basics for a nice defensive line. And a Tauntaun!

Lego Star Wars Battle of Hoth 75014 has an updated defence line like the last set, and a snowspeeder. So there!

Of course, if you want to build a real battle, you need the troops for it! The Rebel Trooper Battle Pack and Snowtrooper Battle Pack will help you expand your battles to epic proportions

If you really want to carry out a proper Battle of Hoth though, there's something you can't miss! The iconic AT-AT, of course! The AT-AT has made a few LEGO outings, in LEGO Star Wars 75054: AT-AT and LEGO Star Wars 10178: Motorized Walking AT-AT
